- Accessed by a fast ferry from Denarau marina these volcanic islands were the location for the iconic movie, the Blue Lagoon. The islands are desolate, sublime in their beauty with a beautiful seascape and healthy marine life
- Barefoot Kuata Resort is immersed in local island life and steeped in Fijian culture, It is a casual and friendly resort with buffet and á la carte meals, a swimming pool.
- Snorkeling, kayaking and hiking are all free. There is a marine biologist on site and Barefoot Kuata operates a reef shark snorkel as well as a bull shark dive where you can watch these majestic lords of the deep swimming in Fiji's crystal clear waters.

The sharks of Beqa Lagoon
The 2 tank shark feed, which simply MUST be done, is an additional US$80 on the package prices per person. The resort can only guarantee one two tank dive per person in order to allow all guests the opportunity on 5 to 7 night packages. However, additional shark dives can be booked subject to availability on mondays, wednesdays and fridays.

Barefoot Kuata is the place to be if you would like to snorkel and enjoy a dive experience with the sharks of the Yasawa Islands.
Nearby Moja Reef is home to the harmless white tip and black tip reef sharks and you can enjoy these beautiful fish gliding gracefully around you in our beautiful waters. Our experts can educate you about our resident school of sharks and ensure your safety. The white tips are quite inquisitive and enjoy checking you out where as our black tips are more timid by nature and will disappear if they feel threatened.
It is also possible to dive with bull sharks here. There is a dive at 10 metres - which does not require scuba diving certification as it considered 'an introductory dive' where you will see 6 + bull sharks and potentially lemons, silvertips and grey reefs.
The resort also operate a handfeeding shark feed for certified divers at 20 metres.

Barefoot Kuata Resort Features

Barefoot Kuata is a relaxed and casual resort set on the dry side of Fiji so beautiful weather is highly probably between the months of May to November (our winter season)
