The sharks of Beqa Lagoon
- Waidroka is located on the edge of the Beqa Lagoon shark reef reserve and and close to the edge of the outer reef. It enjoys stunning sunrises and sunsets and due to its isolation incredible views of the Southern Hemisphere night sky.
- Beqa lagoon has beautiful soft coral reefs with gorgonians, sea whips and Melithaedidae fan corals decorating over hangs and swim throughs. There are a series of small wrecks to explore, blue ribbon eels, fish schools and 1200 species of so of tropical reef fish and macro life.
- The resort has a dedicated dive shop and boats are launched directly from the beachfront. Nuzzled in tropical rain forest the resort is secluded with each bure (thatched bungalow) providing stunning views of the ocean or the gardens. There are 3 different styles of traditrionally styled bure.

Carpet Cove begins at the deepest point with the scuttled wreck of an old fishing vessel. Sunk back in 1996 the wreck sits upright and is covered with black sun coral (Tubastrea micrantha) and soft corals. Adjacent to the wreck are pinnacles rising to a 5 metre acropora shelf filled with orange lyretails. Plenty of aquatic life to be seen.

ET is a photographers delight. Volcanically formed bommies festooned with gorgonia, seawhips and a range of soft corals are home provide a beautiful frane for wide angle shots. Nocturnal fish such as big eyes and soldiers frequent the caves and overhangs and blue ribbon eels nuzzle into the sea bed. Nudibranchs, critters, anthias and other damselfish.

A clutch of 5 current swept pinnacles from around 30 metres to 5 metres deep provide gorgonians and orangey yellow Melithaeidae filled nooks and crannies. A Y shaped swim through provides stunning light shards amid the technicolour corals. Lionfish, morays, turtles and a range of fish inhabit the reef.

7 pinnacles clustered together to explore surrounding by schools of lyretails. The highlight is the Tasu II longliner which sits upright at 25m. The wreck is nicely encrusted in corals and is home to pipefish, emperors, batfish and a range of critters.

Descend down to the feeding arena amid the waiting tawny nurse sharks and take your place at the wall at 23 metres. The show of bull sharks being hand fed will absolutely astound. Returning to the dive boat there are two wrecks to explore.
