Located in the heart of the coral triangle known for as the centre for marine biodiversity. The waters surrounding us are home to technicolour soft and hard coral reefs and to a vast array of vibrantly coloured fish, turtles, macro critters, turtles and sharks. Bligh Water is world famous for its health and beauty. This well preserved and desolate underwater habitat (you will almost certainly be the only dive boat on the reef), is filled with reef structures teeming with life.
It is often the case that it is the most remote areas which have the most beautiful reefs - yet, this is not so in Fiji. Bligh Water (currently only dived from land by the Volivoli Beach Resort near Rakiraki) is 3 hours from the Nadi International Airport. The diving is out of this world yet it also means it is relatively easy to combine your stay in Fiji with another huge underwater attraction - sharks....
Beqa Lagoon , dived from Pacific Harbour on the main island and from Beqa Lagoon Island Resort, is home to some of the most exhilarating diving you can do in the world. Bull sharks are plentiful in the area as a number of rivers drain into the ocean on the south side of Viti Levu. Bull sharks (Carcharhinus Leucas) thrive in murky fresh water and will go many miles inland to give birth around November time. The area's deep underwater channels also mean Fiji is graced with resident lemon sharks, nurse sharks, silvertips, every type of reef - and on one singular dive site, only accessible to guests at Beqa Lagoon Resort - up to 7 tiger sharks.
Diving with tiger sharks (Galeocerdo Chrondrichthyes) is an incredible experience. These apex predators, especially the larger pregnant females, can be up to 5.5 metres long. The sight of nictating membrane of the shark's eyes as rolls across the manmade coral wall and you duck to avoid a tail slap is a true adrenaline rush. The Cathedral shark dive at Beqa Lagoon Resort gives you the opportunity to admire the grace and beauty of all of these sharks and to learn about how the Fiji shark feeds have enabled once overfished reefs to flourish whilst providing income for the traditional Fijian reef owners.
Volivoli Beach Resort 7 nights
Fiji's premium dive resort has unique access to the beautiful soft coral covered bommies of Fij's Vatu-I-Ra marine park - a stunning display of fish, pelagics creatures and the best soft coral diving in Fiji in our opinion.
In the middle of the blue of Bligh Water (a deep channel running between Fiji's two main islands) world class sea mounts , like Mellow Yellow, Instant Replay, E6, Mount Mutiny and Black Magic Mountain delight divers from around the world.
This luxurious 4.5 trip advisor rated resort. located on the remote Northern tip of Fiji's main island, offers 33 well equipped individual villas with 180° ocean views, some of which have private pools.
The resort has 3 bars and 2 restaurants, a fully equipped PADI dive centre and a camera room. The breezy little town of Rakiraki is delightful and there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy Fiji's magical culture and to interact with our local folk.
Beqa Lagoon Beach Resort 3 nights

On the south side of Fiji's main island, a 3 hour picturesque drive from Volivoli through the Fijian countryside, sits Beqa Island. This lush tropical island, reached by a 30 minute ride by powerboat, is another all inclusive retreat set on 10 acres of beachfront land.
The Cathedral dive site is the highlight of Beqa Lagoon's diving. Beqa Lagoon Resort's exclusive shark feed attracts 20+ bull sharks, lemon sharks and nurse sharks. The stars of the show, however, are the 5 -7 tiger sharks that regularly visit and can be observed at the site often on non feed days too. (Please download the shark sustainability brochure) These apex predators are the absolute bucket list for many divers and the crystal clear waters of the Cathedral and the proximity of the sharks offer unsurpassed opportunities for shark photography.
Beqa Lagoon resort offers 25 air conditioned bures, a large swimming pool and areas to relax, a full range of Fijian cultural activities including fire dancing, village visits, church choirs and more.
